It is with regret that we announce that on 16/11/2021, our friend and friend in the Dhamma, Petr Entner, passed away at the age of 60.
Petr practiced insight meditation (vipassana) for many years. He attended meditation courses with a number of teachers, including Sayadaw U Tejaniya, whose meditation center he visited in Mynmar (Burma). About a year ago, he was diagnosed with a serious illness, to which he succumbed on November 16. In recent years, Petr was going to devote himself more to Buddhist practice and planned to visit Myanmar again, possibly for a longer period, after the epidemiological situation calmed down. Unfortunately, all these plans were thwarted by an insidious disease. Even so, we believe that Petr has sown enough merit to enable him to continue in practice in his next life.
The last farewell to Peter will take place on Friday, November 26, from 12:30 p.m. in the funeral hall at the city cemetery in Prostějov. In addition to family and close friends, some of his friends in Dhamma from Bohemia and Moravia will also come to say goodbye to Peter. If you knew Peter and cannot attend, at least remember him with us at this time. For all of us, let this sad event be a reminder of the transience of human life, for as it is said in the Dhammapada: “Here I want to be in the rainy season, here in the winter and here again in the summer,” thinks a fool in his mind and he does not think of the possibility of leaving (Dhammapada, verse 286, taken from the translation by V. Lesné).
