An interesting book is about to be published, if you help support its printing. As part of the crowdfunding campaign (at https://bit.ly/SupportMindfulness) you can support the publication of the book “Mindfulness: what they haven’t told you yet”, which the author is František Lomský, who, among other things, has been active for many years in the Buddhist association Buddha Mangala. He leads a Monday meditation meeting for the public at the Lotus Center and this year he will be a spiritual guide at the traditional New Year’s Eve.
THE START OF THE CAMPAIGN IS ESSENTIAL FOR THE SUCCESS OF THE CAMPAIGN (1. – 30. 11.). WHEN THE AMOUNT RAISED GROWS RAPIDLY IN THE EARLY DAYS, IT WILL ENCOURAGE OTHER PEOPLE’S APPETITE TO JOIN THE SUPPORT. IF THE BOOK INTERESTS YOU, PLEASE DON’T DELAY BUYING IT TOO LONG 😉
I wrote the book this year during the lockdown, when I had much less work than usual. I got to know mindfulness thanks to vipassana meditation, my first teacher was Bhante Ashin Ottama. Today, I have been practicing it for more than twenty years and currently also teach as a lecturer. I perceive that nowadays in the public secular space there is a lot of talk about mindfulness, but almost no one mentions many important aspects that are very important for its successful development. In order to be able to fully develop mindfulness not only in meditation, but especially in our everyday life, it is important not to forget other aspects of the journey to self-knowledge, as Buddhism talks about in the noble eight-fold path. In today’s layman’s language, we could call them holistic development, personal integrity and an understanding of what values and qualities we want to develop in life. In the book, I devote a lot of attention to precisely these neglected areas. Why am I publishing the book with the help of crowdfunding? I am organizing this campaign in cooperation with the Pointa publishing house, which is part of the Albatros group. If it is possible to select the target amount for the creation of the book, the door will be open to book distribution throughout the Czech Republic thanks to Pointa. A sincere thank you to all contributors, your support is greatly appreciated! If the book is published, it will be due to you. Books cannot be created without their readers.” Franta Lomsky |
HOW CAN THE BOOK HELP READERS?
- make full use of the potential that mindfulness and meditation hide in itself, and thanks to this live without unnecessary stress and in harmony with yourself and with other people
- recognize typical obstacles to meditation or the development of mindfulness and be able to overcome them
- avoid dangerous pitfalls that may appear during meditation and mindfulness training

For example PhDr. Jan Benda, Ph.D. (former monk in Sri Lanka, psychologist, psychotherapist, mindfulness lecturer) said about the book: “František Lomský’s readable, comprehensible and in-depth book is based on the author’s rich personal experience with mindfulness and insight meditation. In kind and friendly language, he reveals offers readers surprising opportunities for self-discovery, personal transformation, and finding life satisfaction. And he honestly discusses the possible pitfalls of meditation practice. He leaves it up to the reader whether they decide to use mindfulness to manage stress, develop emotional intelligence, or as a path to spiritual awakening.”
