Ajahn Ñāṇadassano

 

We cordially invite you to the summer course led by Ajahn Nyanadassano.

Ajahn Ñāṇadassano (Nyanadassano) is a monk of Czech origin who grew up with a Russian father in Latvia. In the fall of 1999, he came to Amaravati (in Great Britain) with the intention of becoming a monk. His full acceptance (upasampada) into the bhikkhu order took place on July 21, 2002. Over the years he worked in monasteries in Italy, New Zealand, Thailand and Portugal, and in November 2015 he returned to Amaravati again.

Since 2011, he has been conducting meditation sessions in English and Russian, and this year for the first time in Czech.

Basic organizational information for the event:

The course will start on 6/29 with an opening speech and the first meditation around 7:00 p.m. on the day of arrival (arrival of participants preferably by 6:00 p.m.) and will end on 7/7/2024 with lunch (departure after lunch, we welcome help with cleaning) . The common daily program will start with meditation at 6:00 a.m. (alarm at 5:00 a.m.) and end at 10:00 p.m. During the course, sitting and walking meditation will alternate, as is common. On selected days, from around 2:00 p.m., a joint discussion is possible, and from 7:00 p.m., a short discussion by the teacher in the evening. The diet will be vegetarian - breakfast and lunch, afternoon tea, or for health reasons it will be possible to arrange an afternoon meal as well. The course program is indicative, the teacher can adjust it according to specific circumstances.

Contribution amount for the entire event: CZK 8,900, including food. This amount does not include the amount given to teachers. A monetary reward is given for the teachings that have been handed down as a gift since the time of the Buddha. Its amount is not set - it depends on the generosity of the pupils. The tax is paid in cash directly at the event.
